The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.Elisha replied to her, How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house? Your servant has nothing there at all, she said, except a small jar of olive oil. Elisha said, Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side. She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, Bring me another one. But he replied, There is not a jar left. Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, Go sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left. 2 Kings 4

About Us

Loving our neighbor like Jesus; wherever, whenever, however he asks us to.

Widows Oil Ministry, Inc. became an official 501(C) 3, non-profit in 2018, after many years of assisting

people in need in many different situations. We began by taking our “Littles”, a bit of this or that, and

trying to fill the needs of those around us. We have been blessed through the years with more than we

need, more than we desire, more than we deserve. There came a moment when just “being” a

Christian wasn’t enough, the word rang hollow, and we knew there had to be more. The journey to find

the missing pieces led us to Jesus. His words and his life and his commandments became our life map.

He truly became our guide in the here and now. I, always, thought that I really had no talent to do

worthwhile things for God. In my search I realized that no matter how hard I looked I could not find a

commandment or a suggestion that God desired BIG things from me. He did however, point out time

and time again when the “ little ” ,  was given to God, he turned it into great big miracles. The

little boy’s loaves and fish, the widow’s mite, the tiny drop of oil from a widow’s jar, our little, when

blessed by God results in miracles.

We began to bring our little and asked others to bring theirs, too. The “little” became huge, the miracles

began to happen, and the oil still flows. Your extra crock pot and someone else’s beans, another’s

ground beef, my tomato sauce, another’s saltines becomes a huge meal for the hungry. Your extra coat,

someone’s extra shirt or jeans, my socks, a pair of shoes becomes a miracle for someone in need. An

extra chair, end table or bed becomes a home for the homeless. For those without, these are prayed for

miracles.

The real miracle happened in us. As we followed Jesus’ words and example and began to put them into

action the joy that had been missing in our lives became a fountain that continues to pour out in our

lives and hopefully to those around us, without end.

We don’t do big things, we have God to take care of that. We love the miracles that all of our “littles,

yours and mine, placed in a pile and blessed by God and freely given in love creates.

We are an unashamedly faith- based group of people, just following Jesus’ command to love God and

love our neighbor as ourselves and we do it out loud, with joy and thanksgiving. Come join us. Bring your

little. Expect miracles.
